If as you say you erroneously click on the subscribe icon, and start receiving unwanted emails, simply click on the same icon again to unsubscribe. You will simply be asked if your sure and you are done.

I'm not sure how we could make it simpler than a quick toggle function but if you have suggestions as to how you feel it could be improved we are always receptive.
