Turbo C++ was put out by Borland and is about 10 - 12 years old. I have used it in the past - it is easy to learn with and use but is non-standard and now out-of-date. Borland Turbo C++ software and appropriate manuals may be unavailable now.

I got Sams "Teach Yourself C++ in 24 Hours" by Jesse Liberty and David Horvath. The book comes with a CD with Borland CBuilderX which is a Standard C++ compiler with IDE and a lot of other stuff - all right up-to-date. The book presents the material in a clear and easy manner with good examples and I found it very useful for teaching from.

ISBN: 0-672-32681-7
First printing: August 2004
Publisher: Sams
RRP: $24.99 USA

Hope this helps

Alan
