I have a peculiar problem with Tomcat 5.0. Here is what i am facing

I have installed Tomcat 5.0. i am running my project from the servlets-examples context which is under the webapps directory. Till no i am able to start the server manually and shutdown manually and use it successuly.but now though the server is started, the servlet-examples context is not working. this has happened once before. i did some troubleshooting, and i started to work again. don't know how.
I am facing this problem again. can some body help me and tell me how to over come this problem. i am at a crucial point in my project. please help me
