*MOST* forums have a section on "netiquette" (e.g., in their FAQs or similar) that says "don't respond to old posts" because it clutters up the threads and (as in my own case) cause me to read more threads for what turns out to be no reason.

Since this forum doesn't have such a section, as I just discovered, obviously you aren't doing anything "wrong." So have fun.
