I think it amounts to personal preference. I like a smaller device (my go-to is the Android Nexus with a 7" screen) that's small enough to carry anywhere, but big enough to read any of our books on comfortably. Your trade off is screen shots are slightly smaller and code lines wrap a little more. If you feel you have to have something as large as a standard printed computer book page, a full size iPad is really the only way to go.
