I don't think drivers are involved.

Screen savers are designed to start when the system is idle.

If you have the code for the saver, then you could modify it
to start on demand. Some savers have a command line argument which
makes them run to order. Try right click its Win-Explorer on the
icon and see properties. There just might be somethig there.
