I think you're being redirected, to avoid getting host not found errors.

Here's the situation:

Usually, Web sites are reachable under their domain name, like Wrox.Com. To indicate the server or service, many websites are using a prefix, usually referred to as A records (if that is the correct term). Usually, this is www to indicate a World Wide Web service, but an empty field is possible as well (http://Wrox.com)

To distinguish the forum from the corporal Web site, Wrox has used p2p to indicate this Web site. To the best of my knowledge, http://p2p.wrox.com has always been the official address. Since many people will (erroneously) try www.p2p.wrox.com, Wrox has provided you a *service* to redirect you to the correct place. You're the one that made the mistake, not Wrox and all they did was try to help you find the right page.

The alternative was a dreaded Server Not Found message or an "He, learn to type, this Web site is called p2p.wrox.com not www.p2p.wrox.com message". What do you prefer?

Don't get upset with stuff like this. You're being redirected in any direction continuously on the Web. Like, it, or don't use it ;)
