Default updating db records using asp Version: 2000

Has anyone seen this type of error message before?
"Error Type:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers
(0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot
update. Database or object is read-only."

I am trying to update a record, but I get the above error. I've checked all the permissions on my db, and there's nothing that indicates that it's read only.
