Ah yes. The MouseDown event. Forgot about that one for checking the dropdown click. Good find!

When I want to have something happen when they click the arrow on the combobox I use the MouseDown event on the combobox. That should give you result that you are looking for. Just put the code that you want within the MouseDown event.

Everything works great, but one problem. If the user puts the cursor in the txtbox of the combobox I DON'T want it to requery. Only the arrow. But they have all the same events, so how am I suppsed to know where the user clicked so that I can check that?
Thanks

Maybe I can do something with the X and Y? How can I figure out the exact location of the button in twips? So I can say if the X is between this and this (top left corner to bottom right) then requery.
Thanks

I just kinda played with it until I figured it out. I got it and it works great!
Thanks so much for all your help!
By the way, I work alone. I am THE computer department. So I have no one to discuss things with and work things out with, so...I turn to you!
