Does anyone know if it is possible to create either a HashTable or a HashMap in VBA either Access or Excel - I am looking for the most efficient way to check values assigned to a large number of setting type values. If so, any suggestions as to how to set this up would be most qppreciated.

I am not sure what the HashTable or Map is. Did you try viewing the system tables?

Hi Mike,

A Hashtable or Map is a structure kind of like an array, where you have a series of names and values. You can then look up a value incredibly quickly. I was hoping to use it instead of an array to improve performance of an app I am working on, but I fear that it may be a feature confined to Java.

interestingly enough, the datatype you're looking for here is HashTable. it's built-in. ;)
Just search for "vba hashtable".
