Default Error in Counting

Hey everyone,

Im having a problem getting access to count the correct number of records when i run a report. The problem is that i have a subform within a main form , which records payments made to a claim account, and instead of counting the 1 record from the main form it counts the many (20 in some cases) records in the subform. i am totally stumped on this one, any help is appreciated.

PS report looks fine, with correct number of records, but when i use the count function it gives me the number of payments, not number of claims

Whow are you using count?

In a report, count is the number of detail records. within the group or whole report depending on how you use it.

It sounds like you are wanting a count of the number of groups. Is this corre3ct?
