wonderin if u could help me out with this problem. i currently have a database consisting of a form, and built within that form is a subform. the form takes down personal info on customer claims, and the subform records all payments made to different accounts. i can run the queries and make the reports for all my needs by using fields within the report.

but im tryin to make a query called size of payment, in which the user can pull up all claims between say $5000 and $10 000. i need a field to sum all the payments made by the same customer, even though they are on different records.

Could you post the table structure you're using? I'm not sure I quite understand how you're storing the data. Would I be right in assuming it's something akin to:

Claim:
ClaimId
Customer
Amount
Date

Payments:
ClaimId
Account
Amount

If so, are you looking for the Amounts paid to be grouped by the Account (or whatever) in the Payments table, or the Customer in the Claims table?
