No saving.... it is a basic information out only process. At the bottom of the form that can be displayed or printed there is a test that must be completed and handed in. That information is kept seperate. Basically I lokking for a filter mechanism to shorten the list of tasks. There are around 400 of them, seperated by 4 levels and 5 categories.

Oh, well grab the values as variables (Maybe use Select Case on the check boxes) and then build your SQL string, and then make that the recordsource.

ok.... and what does that mean in english? I wish I could say I was an expert in this, or even a novice, but I am not. My apologese. My only backgorund in this whole ordeal is some work I did way back in QBasic and a pretty good familiarization in Access without coding.

QBasic looks very familiar to VBA.

Do you want an automatic update as they make selections? If so, we can create the code and then put it in a module, and then have each check box run the code.

Is there any way you can send a copy of the database so I can see where the data is going, the control and form names etc? Zip it.
