Default Open a PDF as top screen

I have a shell command open a PDF using Adobe Reader 8.0 and it opens fine and all, but minimized behind Access. I would like Reader to be the window on top. I have looked for command line switches for Adobe Reader but have found nothing pertaining to opening maximized or on top. Please help!
