Default Chinese characters appearing in Access DB

I've been programing in VBA with Access for some time but I have never experienced this problem before. A client has suddenly reported that chinese characters are randomly appearing in a single record of an Access Database. I can't understand why - can anyone help?

It sounds like some unicode got in there somehow, and the user has a chinese font installed on their PC. Uninstall the chinese font. (They must have hit one of those web sites... you know...)
