Default Advantages of creating a new workspace (DAO)

I have been coding with Access for some time, and am beginning to work on a project where more complicated transactions are going to be necessary. I usually begin workspaces from the default, but I wanted to know more about why and when one would create a new workspace. Questions...

1) Is there any issue at all with using the default workspace after you split the front end and the back end with several different users?

2) I did some research and couldn't find a direct answer. I did get this general idea. You would create one when a) you need to access a different, user-security level mdb file or b) when you want to nest multiple workspaces. My question is, are there any other reasons I am missing, or am I wrong about the above?

Thank you.
