In my report,I am trying to get a grand total for each department. I am trying to add up the totals to get the grand total.When I do a grand total under dept in design view, I get a grand total for each entry of the report. How can I get just one grand total for each department. Thanks.

You can go about this various ways.

1. using the the report wizard select the "summary options" and add the fields which you need to sum

2.Create a query and do your calculations on the query and base your report on the query. Make sure yo have report header, details and report footer on.

3. In the report footer reference the field from the details section you want the sum of and calculated there
example: =Sum([your field])
