I have designed a database for the membership of a club and i am now about to start building it. I have been told that MySQLhas a better reputation as a backend database for web site than Access.

Can anyone comment?

Usually, MySQL is used when PHP is used, and Access when ASP is used. AFAIK, this doesn't mean ASP can't be used with MySQL, or PHP with Access, it's just that it's easier.

I would go with MySQL as I use PHP a lot, but it would depend on what server language you'll be using.
