Hi Frenz,

I have a main form and subform which are related through a key. The main form is not updateable while the sub form is ...Now in the table i want to maintain all the data ..which means if a user updates a record in the sub form i want to insert a new record for it rather than updating it ...so i am not able to decide the apt event to write the code ..also what code ...Kindly hlp me with a code snippet and the event as well

Why not set the form's ALLOW EDITS and ALLOW DELETIONS properties to NO and ALLOW ADDITIONS property to YES? That will only allow them to add data but not alter what's there.
