Default Numeric Field Overflow - Error -- HELP!

Hi,

I am running an append query bit only sometimes I get a "numeric field overflow" error?????

I have a text file linked to access 97. I am running an append query to convert a few text fields to integer eg:

EXPR1: CDbl([IP linked]![Internal Pt Number])

where the original field would contain, for example : 549972 (text)

Does anyone know of any reasons why I sometimes get this error

Many thanks

Tim

Integers can only be -32,768 to 32,768

Try using a Long or Double.
