I have split a A2003 database .fe & .be have run the security wizard to secure the front end but now need to secure the backend - anyone have any ideas how to do so - fe on local machines - be on server

One of the pitfalls of using Access back end. I don't think you can secure it. I will watch for posts since I have been unable to do this. I am upsizing right now in part due to this issue.

I read somewhere but forget where that if opening the backend you can modify the backends usergroups to match those used by the front end. i tried using a single user password to secure the backend that matched mine in the front end but that only prevented me from accessing the backend tables ! will keep looking

Another option is to use a databse password on the backend database and not use a work group.
