Default Data Access Page - New Record

I have a Requisition table with fields that a "client" would need to fill out in order to make a Requisition. I am trying to make this into a data access page form so that people on my intranet can fill out their information and I will be able to see it.

Basically, I want these people to access a webpage and see only one record, a new one (similar to the switchboard option of opening a form in "Add Mode"). I know how to set up "DataPageSize" to "1", but how do I make sure that this record they see is always a *new* one.

Thanks.

Hiya Jeff,

Try setting the allowedits and allowdeletions to false. These settings are in the group header properties.

Jeff,

Did you get this resolved?

Kevin,

Sorry it's taken me a week to respond. I have the allowedits and allowdeletions settings to false, with the allowadditions to true. However, this just makes it bring up an error prompting you to abandon your changes when moving from field to field. I think maybe I need to use the DefaultSort setting somehow, but am not familiar with how to use it. Thanks so much for your help again.

Jeff

I believe I figured it out! I went into the Page Properties settings and changed the "DataEntry" setting to 'True'. Now every record is a new one. Thanks!

Jeff,

I am trying to do exactly what you did.
Have a db with a form and now translating it to DAP for intranet.

Can I pick your brain off line?

email me if you want
