Well, it certainly doesn't help that my SQL syntax is rusty, my VB syntax is newbish, and my Access programming experience is negligible. I don't know where I'd be without Google! Thanks again Mike.

How about this....Does this work??

WHERE (partQuery.[primaryVendor] = strVendorNUM) OR ((PartQuery.[AltVendor]) LIKE “ & “ ‘” & strVendorNUM & “*’” & “)”
