I have yet another question relating to my current project I'm working on. The current database has several links either to another database or text files. When saving changes to this it takes as long as 10 minutes before it's done. The same thing happens when I change from Design View to Form View on any Form that I'm working with. I had read about the SubDataSheetName field value in linked table defaults to "Auto" can cause this. Is this more than likely the case here or are there other things that I should look at first?

Hi Robert,

Two serious performance slayers in Access are SubDataSheets and the Name AutoCorrect feature. Definitely turn both off and see if that helps.

=Turn Off SubDataSheets=

Open a table in Design view. On the View menu, click Properties. Set the Subdatasheet Name property to [NONE].

=Turn off Name AutoCorrect=

Tools -> Options -> General Tab.
Turn the Track Name AutoCorrect Info option off (uncheck it). Turning this option off automatically disables the remaining options.
