I need when users select display date that they cannot select a date in the past only current date or some date in the future

How are you doing data validation? What type of control are they using to select a date?

You can do table level data validation and make a date earlier than Date() invalid, or check their input with code and reset the date, etc.

On the date field in your table that the date picker is bound to (I assume) add this validation rule:

>=Date()

Then add an error message in the validation text line.

That is the simplest way to do it since it doesn't matter what type of control you use to take in the date in that case.
