Hi,
I have an Access table which consists of different fields, one of them is reserved to store objects. Currently, I am using this specific field to store excel spreadsheets.
I built a form on the top of this table to display all the fields. One of the things that I would like to do, is to display the excel field as a link, if a user chooses to open the spreadsheet related to a specific record, then he/she will have to click on the link and open the supporting report.

Is there anyway to do this?

Instead of one of the fields to store an object, i.e. the Excel field, why not just have it store a text field? The text in question would simply be a file path and file name of the XLS file on the network drive.

In your code, you'd simply click a button next to the file name and use the Application.FollowHyperlink method to open the Excel spreadsheet. This approach would also shrink your MDB size because storing the file names takes up less space than storing the XLS objects.
