Default Should I wait for .net 2

Hi

Im an asp developer looking to upgrade my work to 1.1 net.
Is it worth me waiting until version 2 of .net ?

Most of my work is done with the orginal asp architecture of database server to web server to client.

What worries me is there will be significant change between 1.1 and 2 and I make a design decision based on 1.1 and then comes a long a new piece of jiggery pokery that could save me and my users alot of time.

Also would you guys recommend me buying Pro 1.1 asp net? Is it a valuable aid to .asp programming or is it a small extension of Pro vb.net book which i already have ?

answers appreciated

1. If you have the ASP book I'd tell you to skip the VB book. However there is content in the ASP book that a VB book wouldn't cover. SPecifically things like the web.config and other ASP content (well, in more detail!)

2. I am not sure what "jiggery pokery" might be, however there are changes from 1.1 to 2. Some will be a boon to web developers- like the idea of "Master Pages"

3. Don't upgrade existing systems- it's not worth the effort.

4. You might get more answers if you had posted this in the ASP.NET forum (Also known as ASPX) rather than the ADO.NET forum.

I would recommend starting now. .NET 2.0 has been pushed back time and time again and it's now slated to launch sometime in the summer '05.
