i am a newcomer in coding, i am just trying to cope the code of the example given by Microsoft access database northwind. but when i run my coding then it show the error.
"Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' provider is not registered on the local machine."

can any one help me.

i have already spend 2 day but not find any solution.i did not find jet 4.0 provider at my registry option in my machine. is it problems to run this ? i have used visual basic.net 2008.

is it a web or Win app? can u open Access (.MDB) file directly?

ya! it's open in access and it is windows application.

if u have installed MS Access on ur machine it must be ok now.
if so, try reinstall it again. i'll see if there is something more

are you using 64bit operating system this problem occurs in 64 bit OS
check in registry if Jet 4.0 exist

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Jet\4.0\Engi nes\Jet 4.0

if not then solution is that make a seperate appilcation pool and in advance properties “Enable 32-Bit Applications”, set that to True. and assign that pool to ur website / web service
