Default custom namespaces in XHTML/Ajax application

Hi,

I found an Ajax demo http://www.backbase.com/demos/pim/.
I saw the source and i was wondering if i could also create custom namespaces,
like the guy created 'b' and 's'.
I don't know how to do it.
I have worked with namespaces, dtd's and schemas in XML.
But how to use it in XHTML.
Can any one help me?
