Particularly I am discussing abt the Callout extender ,I know it enhances the output message ,but does it also perform postback?Could anybody help me out please,I am new to ajax Toolkit Controls.:)

I shouldn't see why it needs to especially as it only works with controls that use client-side validation. Easy enough to test though. Personally I have not used it much as it doesn't seem to return focus to the control that causes the validation error.
