ASP.NET e-Commerce - Screen flickers

In the WroxJokeShop e-Commerce Web application, I have noticed the following when running the application:

In the DataList that contains various departments to select, when selecting a department by clicking on the hyperlink, I notice that the screen jumps (very quickly see movement of .gifs). How can this be fixed?
