Default Professional ASP 3.0

on page 17 it states that one may name all asp or html files with an ASP extensions, even if there is no server side script in the file.
I have have foudn this to be intermnittant at best.
is the statement found on page 17 still accurate ?

Yes, I have done this on a client site that I am putting together.

I haven't run into any snags as far as the naming of files concerned.
