For books not purchased by Wiley during Wrox's liquidation earlier this year, you will need to go to www.apress.com. If they do not have the code at their site, contact their cust. service at [email protected]. Wiley bought 35 books, the Wrox Press brand, and some of the web sites.
Beginning Java 1.4...if you bought the book by Ivor Horton, that code should be here as Wiley bought that book. However, I've learned this week that there is a beta book not written by Horton - author is Weaver - and that is not with Wiley/Wrox Press anymore.

I think wrox should have the courtesy to inform their readers about the source codes and other info about the older books that are not to be found at wrox website. no wonder wrox is being bought over.

Hi there,
Wrox used to be quite good at handling the codes from their books. I just come back to check out some codes and found they are missing, and there is no clue where they may be. Then come to this discussion forum to learn that the history turned a page on Wrox.
I agree that Wrox should have posted a notice about the dramatic changes taken place. However, This is no longer under the control of Wrox any more!!! Obviously you know who to blame now.
I urge the Wiley people do a better job on this topic. Jennifer Bergman could be our representative for this mission. Come on, give her (the Marketing Manager at Wiley/Wrox) a cheer!
This is your responsibility now, ie Wiley's. It's directly reflects your image. Not Wrox' any more. We, Wrox' customers turned to be yours (I have Wiley books too), demand a reasonable service. At least post a notice to people who have Wrox's books where to find the code. NOT JUST IN THE DISCUSSION FORUM. No matter whether Wiley bought the books or not. Wiley is controlling the information port of the Wrox'. A better way is to provide clickable links to those source code locations.
If you need help, we all know how to make a good webpage.

Don't buy the Beginning J2EE 1.4 book, and if you are unlucky enough to already have then complain to wrox/wiley or whoever owns this book. This book was written with respect to the 1.4 beta release, and now that j2ee 1.4 if finalized, its completely useless. You will run into trouble on the very first page, when they tell you to start the app server with j2ee (the j2ee command no longer exists) and Cloudscape has been replaced too. According to the reviews on amazon.com the author is bringing out an updated version in feb 2004, i hope in the interests of customer relations that whey will allow anyone who got stuck with this version to exchange it for the revised addition. In fairness to the authors, they did mention towards the end of chapter 1 that the book was written with the 1.4 beta, they really got screwed by the extent to which the beta bore no relation to the final j2ee 1.4
