Default Referencing Fields using VBScript in Outlook 2000

New to VBScript in Outlook 2000. Need to access "Subject" and "Sender" fields of an active Mail form using VBScript. All examples I have are either creating a new message or traversing Outlook folders, or are accessing user created items. How do I reference (read from or write to) these items in VBScript?
