Default .NET Enterprise Development in VB.NET

I have build errors on p. 39 with three items--Count, Clear, and RemoveAt.

Message reads: "C:\BookManager\EnterpriseObjects\EnterpriseObject s in VB\EnterpriseCounterCollection.vb(49): 'Public Overrides ReadOnly Property Count() As Integer' cannot override 'Public Overridable NotOverridable ReadOnly Property Count() As Integer' because it is declared 'NotOverridable'."

Anyone else encounter this error?

I'm using VS2003--is this an issue?

This error is very confusing to me..

It seems it's been declared overridable and No Overridable. Are you Since I don't have the book, I can't look at the actual text- but it seems that the base class your inheriting from has a bug...

It's a 2003 problem. It works fine in 2002. I've not taken the time to investigate it much though. Probably not a big deal to fix.

Apparently this is the correct behaviour. The documentation in incorrect when it says that these methods are overridable.
The methods Count, Remove and Clear are actually both overridable AND not overridable. They are overridable in the base class of the Collection, but in the inherited class they are declared as not-overridable. Microsoft say that this is a documentation mistake which will be corrected. We are supposed to use OnClear and OnRemove methods instead.
