Default jsp in tomcat

hello all,
i am new to tomcat and jsp, so please bear with me. the problem i have is that i am trying to write some jsp code to call a java class in tomcat. the main problem is in writing the jsp itself. i have tomcat set up successfully and the java code does compile aswell. (all the java code does is connect to a mysql database)any help would be very much appreciated. thanks.

Read up on Java Beans.
Beans are java classes, these can be accessed directly from a JSP page.
