Default monitoring apache tomcar

hi!!! i want to monitor the apache tomcat server performance details like its thread statistics like number of threads that are currently active etc and some other monitoring parameters like max canche size and the cache size in use etc. i also want to store these details in the database.i want to achieve these things using java.can anybody help me out in achieving this.
