Default Small Search Engine on Website

Hello

When I look at some websites they have a Search mechanism. I wanted to create one for my website. I am not taking about the BIG search engines like GOOGLE or YAHOO but small business have a Search button to do searches on their website.

I have no idea how much work this is or how it works.

Any suggestions on literature, books, website, or possibly a Sample Search Code somewhere.

I used ISpy for Shopping Cart example

I need a Search engine - button thing example.

Someone Answer me.
Thanks.

Hello,

If you are using Windows, you can use the Indexing Service. I've never used it, and from what I've seen, it doesn't look easy. But it is functional. You can find examples of this on the web. It's been around for a while.

Hi

This is a free search that can be implemented on a website.

http://www.atomz.com/applications/search/trial.htm

You can see it in action on my home page: http://www.triwebgroup.com
Look for the search box at the bottom.

One nice thing is that you get a report at the end of the month with all the terms that users were searching for, so you then know what people are really looking for.

Hope this helps,
Debbie
