Default How to Flush out Cache on my local computer

Hello General Question:

I sometimes go to websites and they install Cookies on my machine.

However I noticed sometime even after I delete the Cookies and all offline content, the same cookies keep getting created. Sometimes my default home page gets changed automatically. And even after I delete all cookies, and change the home page back to the one I assign somehow the default homepage gets changed again.

I would imagine this is because cache contains the cookie-ish items and when my computer restarts or when I click internet explorer some of these cookies get recreated and my home page gets re-assigned another URL.

How do I solve this?

I don't want to change the setting of Internet options to Custom Level.

I would imagine I would have to do this in DOS.

All suggestions are welcome
This is just my best guess.
Thanks.

Hi there,

I am not sure about the cookies problem, but if your default homepage gets changed, you have been infected with spyware.

Go to this page: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/, click Ad-Aware in the left menu, download the tool, scan your computer and it will tell you what nasty software is running on your system. It will also remove it for you.

Can you please not cross-post your messages? They will be read anyway....

Cheers,

Imar
