when I execute my web page the HTML executes just fine, but the ASP code does not resolve properly. does anyone have an idea?

When you view the source of the page, do you see the ASP code? Or is it gone?

1. u should save the page withe extension "xyz.asp"
2. ur system should have an IIS/PWS installed properly.

if the above does't work fine then
check the coding tags that u have mad <% ... %>
