Default form submits then it doesn't?

Hi,

I have a form that allows you to do search, for each record found it populates the form fields with the data from the database and creates page sets for next and previous, now for the stange part, when the first record appears if i press update the values are passed no problem, however if I follow the link to the next record even though the data is populated in the fields (and when you view the source the data is there in the input fields) when I press submit the data isn't being passed?

I have no idea as to the reason so I am hoping somebody here may have

Cheers
Peter
