I am pretty new to ASP.NET and i have to complete my tasks assigned to me as soon as possible.
The task is to create an intranet appliation.
Scenerio-: I m using Web Matrix Project and SQL Server 2000 and using code builders to retrive data, update, insert
1.
In this i have to select data from 3 drop down lists , the data contianed in the drop down lists are collected from one table. Now with this data Selected.Item.Text i need to fire a query and retrive a row from the datatbase. It will only disply one row cause it is unique adn it is primary key.
This data that is retrived is to be then transported to another table in the same database.
2.
And also i want to pull out the data from the database for a particular colounm and display it in the TextBox

PL let me know if anybody has the asnwer to this then pl reply urgently as i have to meet deadlines and submit my task.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Vishal,

And what do you want us to do? Write a full-blown application for you and post the code here? That's not going to happen.

If life is not about the triumph, but about the struggle, can you tell us what part of the struggle you have already accomplished?
It's easier to provide a useful answer if you ask specific questions. Post some of the code you (may) already have; describe what the application is supposed to do, give some detail about your table structure and most importantly, clarify your question.

IMO, what you're doing right now is just describing the requirements for the application as they were given to you.....

Thanks for showing the correct way to code. Anyways dude you were right that you people cannot give me the complete code. The details that i mentioned in my first post was not mere Specs, but what i am actually working. And as i am working for someone i have confidentiality issues, cos thats the reason i cud not write the part of code i m trying to use or the database design.
Anyways I have figured out the problem i posted. If there are some other issues that i wud face in future will definately send a post to the fourm.
