Hello there. I have just started using APS, and I started with Beginning ASP.Net. I beleive that I have setup IIS5.1 correctly and I have installed Visual Studio .Net, and followed the instruction for the first excercise in the book (datacontrol.aspx) including the creation of the Virtual Directory. However, when I open the file the page is empty. If I view the source, I can see the script code. It seems like it is not being interpeted by ASP.Net. Anyone knows the problem?!

In what order did you setup Visual Studio and IIS?? You'll need to have IIS installed before you install the .NET Framework.

If that doesn't help, make sure IIS is installed and setup properly, then reinstall the .NET framework and Visual Studio.NET

Thank you for your answer. After looking to the link you provided, I will try to run aspnet_regiis.exe as mentioned to reconfigured the asp suffixes in IIS. If that does not work, I will unistall IIS, .Net Framework, and Visual Studio .Net and reinstall in the order you specified. I think that I had Visual Studio installed first and then I installed IIS.

what is the basic difference between Web Matrix and VS.net for ASP.NET ?
as far as i understand these things is that web matrix mix up the code behind and put it in the same ASPX file while the VS.NET makes separate [webform1].aspx.cs files please do make comments on that..!
