Default Error Mesage problem

OK, this may be a really basic question, but can someone tell me why my error messages do not show up properly as exemplified in Wrox's beginning dynami websites book.
I always seem to recieve the page which indicates, "This page cannot be displayed"
as compared to themore descriptive error messages which can help in debugging.

How do I get the more descriptive error messages to come up rather than the generic, page cannot be displayed, message?

Thanks

You need to make the following settings in Internet explorer to get exact error messages.

Go to tools -> Internet options --> Select Advance Tab, and Uncheck show friendly HTTP error messages.

If this dosen't solve ur problem then you need to check the IIS settings.
