Default Error: File path and URL http map differently

I have copied an sample solution folder to my C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\VBNET\SampleApp. Then when I tried to open an existing project from C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\VBNET\SampleApp, an error msg , the file path "C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\VBNET\SampleApp" and the URL http://localhost/SampleApp map differently" popped up.

Question:
How can I change the URL of the SampleApp solution to http://localhost/VBNET/SampleApp ? Or, I guess if I save the Sample solution to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\SampleApp, I should be able to open the SampleApp solution. Am I right?

TIA,
Jeffrey

if you open the solution file in notepad you can edit those settings. Alternatively, open iis mmc and create a virtual directory under your app root that is named SampleApp and map the directory to C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\VBNET\SampleApp that should correct the problem

Thanks.

I can not find a .sln file from the sample folder to edit the settings. Can see only .aspx, aspx.vb, etc. Is it because the VS.net version is different?

I did open those aspx, asp.vb files; but still can not see anything for http://localhost... to edit. Specifically, which file I need to edit before I can open the sample solution/project?

TIA,
Jeffrey

The app that is generating the error, did you copy it from one server via Visual Studio or did you phsyically copy it to that location?

I think I need to read carefully how the VS creates the .sln, .aspx, etc. files, and how the windows physical directory and IIS directory are created. I thought I have corrected all the wrong names, including the http:/ web directory, but still could not open the existing project.

I will started all over again creating the solution/project with the correct name.

Thanks,
Jeffrey
