Default How 2 Sum Value in TextBoxes when Entered Instatly

Am I trying to add 7 textbox instantly when value is entered in any of the textbox and display it in 8th Textbox and display this in ASP webpage.

I am using a javascript to do addition and in textbox control am using textchanged attribute to call addition function. I am getting error as function not defined. Where both in same aspx file.

What may I need to run this page successfully.

hi there..

you are adding dynamic textboxes from javascript and expect them to run a function in code behind?? that's your idea?? if not please explain a little further...

you can do that directly without using javascript.
first of all set all textbox's autopostback property to true.
then write following code to 1 to 7 textbox's changed event.
textbox8.text=textbox1.text + textbox2.text+ ...+textbox7.text

it should be work......

Thanks for the reply,

I have created a addition function in javascript on the aspx page.
I am calling this function on textchanged event in individual textbox control. Can I do this without writing any code in code behind(my original intention). What methodology would be efficient from this problem.

yes you can.. can you post the aspx file?? maybe the name of the function is wrong??

Halo All

I am newbie on asp.net 2.0 and Javascript also

I have this same problem with prasanna.nadgir.
I want to do it on client side,
to cut the time.
Is it posible to do it without postback?

Please give me sample in details. :D
