I am using ASP.NET v1.1. when I am trying to open any web application, I am seeing an error message.

"Visual studio .NET has detected that the specified web server is not running ASP.NET version 1.1. You will be unable to run ASP.NET web application or web services."

I have also tried "aspnet_regiis -i" utility to fix this problem. But error message is continue.

Actualy I have unstalled oracle 9i & installed it again. After insatlling the oracle 9i, i am facing this problem.

They give the solution as below:

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, change the status of ASP.NET 1.1 to Allowed in the Web Service Extension list in IIS 6.0. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Internet Information Services (IIS).
3. Click Web Service Extensions.
4. In the details pane, click ASP.NET v1.1.4322 in the Web Service Extension list.
5. Click Allowed to change the status from Prohibited to Allowed.

I am using XP Pro & IIS v5.1
So I am not not able to find the specified Web Service Extensions. Then How Can I resolve my problem.


Pls give me a solution. Bcoz I m not able to do anything due to this problem.

Have you tried creating just a test script in notepad, putting it in a web directory, and display it through a web browser? Read as, have you tested the server and know that 1.1 is up and running correctly.

I am having the same issue with not being able to find Web Extensions in IIS 5.1. I can view html pages fine at http://localhost/ but asp and asp.net pages will not display. Even 'manually' created asp.net pages.
