uploading and security
I made a page that uploads a file to the webserver (IIS 6). I configured the security for the folder that receives the uploaded file as follows: Gave write access to IUSR_<MachineName> and to Network Service.
I still get a message that access to the path is denied.
I tried the same on IIS 5, with the same results,
I'm stuck. What do I overlook?

Within IIS you will need to let the application have write access. Have you checked this

Try giving the users full control and if that works knock security levels off one at a time and see which one it really needs.

I already did that, gave everyone full access to the application and all the directories of IIS. No results.

I think we need more information. what does "gave everyone full access" mean? Forget the whole application... focus on the one directory that's getting files.. the IUSER_ should have write access as should the ASPNET user.

Hi Gerhard,
How large are the files you're uploading? By default, IIS will block files larger than around 200K....
Cheers,

I have a little image of 12Kb that I always use for testing. I'm really stumped.
IUSR_<machinename> and the ASPNET both have full control. I also tried to give the "Everyone" account full control. Really nothing works.
And here it comes: I just tried to upload a file to this same directory with a Classic ASP upload script I always used. And that worked...

Could it be a bug in the script? We haven't examined that yet...
