*no* caching to improve performance????? Caching is one of the best ways to improve performance.

Optimization is quite a large subject. There are tons of things you should or shouldn't do to improve performance. Search Google for best practices, performance and ASP.NET and then read some of the stuff you find: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...et+performance

If the page data changes a lot, you can still use caching, but not output caching. For example, if you have a page called DisplayNewsItem.aspx, it's likely this page is used to display many different news articles. Instead of output caching the entire page, you can just cache the news item retrieved from the database.

Was the link I posted any good to you? And do you have specific areas you're having performance problems with?

I also think that caching is the best way to improve performance and it can be implemented in different ways.
