Caching in Crystal reports..

hi, i want to know how exactly we can change the values in reportdocument in crystal reports..can anyone suggest me some articles for that and also i want to know how to use the default functions like sum,agg in formula fields,everytime i try one it gives me an error.
these 2 things are bothering me from the last 2 days ..so can anyone give me some useful information in this regard..
